Auto parts firm Tsubaki chooses New Stanton Park for HQ

A former Ilkeston ironworks will become a new UK operations base for Japanese firm Tsubaki, which is set to complete its relocation to a purpose-built new assembly centre in November.

The company – which celebrates its 109th anniversary next year – will consolidate two Tsubaki-owned UK operations into a single, built-to-specification building at New Stanton Park, bringing together offices, workshops and a 17,000 sq ft warehouse.

Around 15 staff will be based at the new location, built as part of Verdant Regeneration’s 195-acre site on the former Stanton Works, which closed down for good in 2007.

Earlier this year, Italian cement firm Fassa Bortolo also confirmed a move to New Stanton Park, after its plans to build a a 250,000 sq ft production facility and offices were given the green light by Erewash Borough Council.

“Tsubaki is a world-class engineering business with more than a century of heritage, and we are delighted that they have chosen New Stanton Park for their new UK facility,” said Verdant director, David Grier.

“Their decision reinforces the site’s growing profile as one of the region’s most attractive and accessible locations for industrial investment.

“With excellent connectivity, high-quality accommodation and the capacity to support long-term expansion, New Stanton Park continues to prove its appeal to ambitious companies looking for a future-ready home.”

The company expects to take ownership of the building in early October, with full operational activity planned by the end of November 2026.

Tsubaki’s new facility is being built by Henworth Construction.

James Keeton, marketing agent for Verdant Regeneration, said: “We’re now starting to see Verdant’s substantial investment in regeneration and infrastructure delivery at New Stanton Park deliver tangible results.

“Plot 1 is already home to DX Delivery and Tsubaki, with units 5 and 6 having also recently been sold to an occupier following speculative construction. We now only have the potential for three final mid-box units on plot 1 from 20,000 to 45,000 sq ft. Plots 2 and 3 are available for larger big box developments.”
