East Midlands theatre takes on 31,000 sq ft industrial unit

Nottingham Playhouse says a “substantial” unit at one of the city’s most established commercial locations will be used for set design and production.

NG Chartered Surveyors has successfully completed the letting of the 31,000 sq ft Unit 15 at Little Tennis Street, near Nottingham Racecourse, to the theatre group.

The property benefits from a clear-span warehouse with 5.5-metre eaves height, three electrically operated roller shutter doors with level access loading, and fully fitted two-storey offices featuring a full-height reception area.

Thomas Szymkiw, Head of Agency at NG Chartered Surveyors, who acted on behalf of the landlord, said: “This letting underlines the continued strength of demand for high-quality industrial accommodation in well-established Nottingham locations.

“Unit 15, Little Tennis Street offers an excellent combination of scale, specification and accessibility, making it an ideal fit for Nottingham Playhouse’s operational requirements.

“We are pleased to have secured a strong covenant for the property and to have played a role in supporting Nottingham Playhouse’s ongoing creative and production activities within the city.”

Giles Davis, Partner at Geo Hallam and Sons, who acted on behalf of Nottingham Playhouse, said: “I am delighted to have acquired this building for Nottingham Playhouse, which will serve as a production and storage facility to support their Theatre in Nottingham city centre.”
