‘Major milestone’ as Persimmon gets Staffordshire green light
Planning permission has been granted for 135 new homes in Cheadle, near Stoke-on-Trent.
The approved Royal Gardens development on Froghall Road will provide a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom properties, including 44 set to be delivered as affordable housing.
The approved plans include more than five acres of publicly accessible open space, extensive landscaping and new tree planting, alongside a “green buffer” running adjacent to Cecilly Brook.
Persimmon says the approval will also unlock more than £1.5m in community investment, including funding towards a new primary school, new sports pitches, enhanced play facilities and a range of highways and transport improvements.
Ian Hilliker, Persimmon Homes North West Managing Director, said: “Securing planning approval for Royal Gardens is a major milestone and I would like to thank the Council for their support.
“This development will deliver high-quality homes for local families alongside a significant investment in the Cheadle community, including funding for a new primary school.
“We’ve listened to local residents and are committed to delivering a scheme that creates real benefits for the community— from a new primary school and attractive green spaces to new jobs and apprenticeship opportunities for young people.”
