New occupier for former Stoke-on-Trent pottery site
Metal firm Jarrobs is set to expand into new premises, after signing a 10-year lease on redeveloped warehouse units in Tunstall.
The expanding Alsager-based fabrication company has taken on a 42,030 sq ft premises at 200 Scotia Road, once home to Dudston pottery.
The historic pottery maker collapsed in 2019 after more than 200 years in the city, before the site of the company’s former Duraline manufacturing site was acquired by Vengrove in 2021, and redeveloped as industrial units last year.
The deal was arranged by property agents Harris Lamb.
“We’ve had a great deal of interest in 200 Scotia Road due to the calibre of the refit, its excellent strategic location and the flexibility of the opportunities at the site,” said Mike Burr, Senior Surveyor at Harris Lamb’s Stoke office.
“Jarrobs Ltd were looking for an additional premises to its existing site in Alsager and, Unit B, which has a three-phase power supply, a loading slab capacity of 50 kn per sq m, an eaves height of 5.3-7m and four level loading doors met its operational requirements. The unit shares a rear loading area and benefits from on-site parking as well as its close proximity to the motorway network.
“We quickly agreed terms, and the business is now in the process of locating to the building,” he added.
Jennie Brown, senior associate at Vengrove, added: “We completed the redevelopment of 200 Scotia Road to meet demand for quality industrial stock within the region, and we’ve had a great response to the scheme. We are delighted to welcome Jarrobs Ltd to the development, and wish them every success.”
