Newmark bolsters Birmingham ratings team

Both arriving from BNP Paribas, Matthew Dolben has joined as partner and Magdalena Singh as associate as the firm sharpens its focus on the leisure sector in regional markets.

Dolben brings more than 20 years of industry experience, specialising in licensed leisure properties including pubs, bars and hotels. Recognised as an authority on the valuation of ‘over-trading’ premises, he also represents clients across industrial, retail and office sectors before the Valuation Tribunal and Upper Chamber.

Singh adds a further eight years of experience, with a strong focus on the licensed leisure sector. Her background also includes significant work in the industrial and automotive markets, bringing broad expertise to Newmark’s expanding regional team.

Both join from BNP Paribas Real Estate to enhance Newmark’s national business rates capabilities and further reinforce the firm’s expertise in hospitality and leisure sectors.

Emily Roberton, co-head of business rates at Newmark, said: “The addition of Matthew and Magdalena to our Birmingham office marks an important milestone in the continued growth of our Business Rates team.

“Their deep sector knowledge and regional insight will be a significant value-add to our leisure-sector mandates. These appointments reflect our commitment to investing in the best talent and expanding our regional strength across the UK.”

Newmark works globally, and for the twelve months to 30 September 2025 generated revenues of $3.1bn. The firm works from 170 offices with more than 8,500 professionals across four continents.
