Spades in at Melton Mowbray industrial scheme
Work is now under way on a purpose-built production centre in Leicestershire, after planning consent was tied up this month – with the 175,000 sq ft fleet management centre already pre-let on a long-term deal.
Hortons will deliver the purpose-built facility at Old Dalby Business Park, near Melton Mowbray, where occupier Toyota Material Handling UK has operated for more than two decades.
The company has signed a 15-year lease on the new building, which will include production and workshop space, offices, internal and external storage, and a secure service yard. The scheme is targeting an EPC A rating.
Amphion Construction appointed as main contractor, with practical completion scheduled for March 2027.
“We are pleased to have secured planning consent for this strategically important scheme,” said Jeremy Boothroyd of Hortons.
“The development will deliver high-quality, sustainable industrial space that enhances TMHUK’s operational capabilities and supports its continued growth. It also forms part of our wider programme to upgrade Old Dalby Business Park.”
Stuart Reilly, TMHUK’s director for rental and used, added: “This high-quality, sustainable development will deliver a better working environment for our team members while continuing to elevate the experience we deliver to our customers.
“By investing in this facility, we are strengthening our ability to support our customers’ evolving needs for many years to come.”
Joint agents for Old Dalby Business Park are FHP and TDBRE.
