Eurofit selects Midlands for its UK entry
The European tyre-wheel assembly specialist has chosen Prologis Park Coventry for its first operation in the country, signing for the refurbished 105,000 sq ft DC105 unit.
Prologis said the move marks a major milestone as Eurofit enters the market, choosing the Midlands in order to be close to its automotive partners.
Belgium-headquartered Eurofit now mounts more than 20m wheels a year, with 900 employees on the payroll. The business operates from 18 locations in seven countries.
Jan Blaauw, general manager at Eurofit Group, said: “Expanding into the UK is a milestone for Eurofit. Coventry’s position at the centre of the UK automotive sector makes it the ideal location for us to establish our operations, close to our OEM partners and with the right infrastructure to support our growth.”
The facility has been refurbished to improve its sustainability credentials and now holds an EPC A+ rating, with features including LED lighting, smart metering, and a solar-ready roof.
With Eurofit’s arrival, Prologis Park Coventry as it stands is now fully let. The scheme offers five motorways within 15 miles, providing fast access to major manufacturing hubs, ports, and population centres.
To meet continued demand, big box specialist Prologis has brought forward the final land plot at the park. It can accommodate either one larger build-to-suit facility of up to 600,000 sq ft for a single occupier, or two smaller build-to-suit facilities with footprints starting from around 250,000 sq ft.
Tom Price, director of leasing at Prologis UK, said: “Eurofit’s arrival highlights both the international appeal of Prologis Park Coventry and the importance of the Midlands as a hub for the automotive industry.
“With the park now fully leased, we’re excited to progress the final build-to-suit opportunities – giving customers the chance to secure bespoke, future-ready space in this proven location.”
