Cameron Homes buys up Wychavon site for undisclosed sum

Staffordshire housing firm Cameron Homes is set to build more than 60 houses in the Worcestershire village of Crowle, after securing a 10.4-acre development site.

Detailed planning approval for 62 homes, including 25 affordable properties, was granted in July 2025 by Wychavon council for the site on Church Road.

The land was previously set to be developed by Solihull builder Piper Homes, which slid into administration in 2024.

Work is now expected to begin on site in August, with enablement works currently under way for the scheme.

John Hickman, Group Land Director for Tara Group and Cameron Homes, said: “Securing this site with a full planning ticket in place will give a real boost to our 2027 financial year.

“Crowle is an aspirational village we know well and have targeted for land opportunities for some time. It combines historic rural charm, outstanding schooling and amenities, with quick access to the M5 and city of Worcester.

“We’re thankful to our project team, consultants, and Lodders Solicitors for helping us to acquire this site within a matter of weeks.”
