‘Reknowned’ Leicestershire hotel hits the market for £7.5m
A prestige hotel in the heart of the East Midlands countryside is up for sale, after the owners of the business decided to call it quits after 23 years.
The sale of grade two-listed Kilworth House Hotel & Theatre, roughly halfway between Coventry and Leicester, includes a 44-bedroom hotel set in a 38-acre Victorian country estate, along with four private dining rooms and eight conference rooms, and an open-air theatre.
Estate agents Savills and specialist business property adviser Christie & Co have been appointed as joint agents for the sale.
Jeremy Jones, Head of Hotel Brokerage at Christie & Co, said: “Kilworth House Hotel & Theatre is a unique hospitality and musical theatre experience in the heart of the country. It is a labour of love for a listed heritage building and home to one of the UK’s most imaginative theatrical settings.
“This retirement sale presents an opportunity for somebody grow the business even further, building upon its current fine reputation.”
Christie & Co say the hotel’s “expansive grounds” and countryside setting would offer the new owners development potential, subject to planning permission.
Kilworth House Hotel & Theatre is on the market with an asking price of offers over £7.5m.
