Consultation launched on 185-home Derbyshire scheme
Residents have until next week to respond to a public consultation on plans to build 185 new homes in a Derbyshire beauty-spot.
House-builder Barratt Homes says it plans to submit an outline planning application to High Peak Borough Council later this year, for a scheme in Chapel-en-le-Frith which includes around 56 affordable homes, together with new public open space, landscaping, and measures to support biodiversity.
Access to the site is proposed off Crossings Road, via a new junction, the developer says.
Residents can respond to the survey via a consultation website at crossingsroadconsultation.co.uk, with the site open for responses until Tuesday, 28 October
Simon Artiss, Planning Manager at Barratt Homes said: “We are proud to already have a strong legacy in High Peak, having recently delivered more than 500 new homes across Buxton, Tintwistle and Whaley Bridge.
“Building on that success, this consultation marks the next step as we bring forward our emerging plans for land at Crossings Road, Chapel-en-le-Frith. The proposals would deliver much-needed new homes, including affordable housing, alongside new open space and environmental benefits.
“We encourage local residents to visit the consultation website, take a look at the plans, and share their views with us before a planning application is submitted.”
Architects for the scheme are IDP Partnership, with Emery Planning also providing planning consultancy services.
