David Wilson consults on Leics proposals
The housebuilder is preparing to lodge an application for a 180-strong housing development in Great Glen, close to Oadby.
Ahead of putting its plans to Harborough Council, DWH has shared in outline how it wants to deliver a scheme in the area.
The firm said that the project will include up to 180 homes, comprising a mix of family homes, and those targeted at first-time buyers and downsizers.
New public open space is also proposed, along with allotments, orchards, a ‘trim trail’, two play areas and a walking route through fields to the west of the site. Improved access to Great Glen village will also be included.
DWH’s intention is that the housing will be accessed from a priority-controlled junction on London Road.
As explained by the firm in the online consultation, the site is not within the Green Belt but lies within the “area of separation” between Great Glen and Oadby, making it a sustainable location for new homes.
DWG said that the proposals support Harborough Council’s draft Local Plan, which aims to deliver 657 homes per year until 2036 to meet government housing targets.
The consultation runs until midnight on 22 September.
