Browne Jacobson sets sights on upgraded Nottingham HQ
Law firm Browne Jacobson will take up 46,000 sq ft across three floors of Archers Wharf, relocating from its existing base at Mowbray House.
A bespoke fit-out will now begin at the Canal Street building, formerly known as Parexel House, ahead of an expected move in early 2028.
Last month, the firm also confirmed it would be doubling the size of its Manchester office, taking the entire 15th floor at No.1 Spinningfields.
Richard Medd, Managing Partner at Browne Jacobson, said: “Nottingham is where Browne Jacobson began, and our roots in this city and the wider Midlands run deep. That heritage is something we are genuinely proud of. It has shaped who we are, how we think and the values we bring to our work every day.
“This region has long been an important base from which we serve clients across the East Midlands and our wider client base throughout the whole of the UK and Ireland, and from which we support a growing number of domestic and international businesses. Securing Archers Wharf is a clear statement that our commitment to Nottingham has never been stronger.
“We are a firm that operates at the forefront of some of the biggest issues facing business and society – from the transformation of public services and the energy transition to the challenges facing global businesses investing into the UK and Ireland.
“Nottingham remains central to that mission, and this new office will give our colleagues here a home that reflects the calibre of what they do and the impact they make.
“We are building a firm for the long term, one that invests with conviction in its people, its places and its communities. Archers Wharf is part of that story.”
Browne Jacobson said the move had presented a “rare opportunity” to create a workspace that is consistent in look, feel and quality with its other offices across the UK and Ireland.
The refurbished building will include dedicated quiet zones for focused working, a wellbeing room, a greater variety of collaborative spaces and pods for private calls, and breakout areas.
“Archers Wharf gives us the opportunity to create a space that is truly built around our people – one that reflects how we work, what matters to us and the outstanding work we do for clients every day,” added Ian Long, Nottingham office co-head at Browne Jacobson.
“The design has been shaped by direct feedback from our colleagues, and I am proud that their voices have been at the heart of this process from the outset.
“Nottingham is a city with real energy and ambition, and Browne Jacobson has been part of its professional landscape for generations. Archers Wharf is our next chapter here, and I cannot wait to see our team thrive in it.”
