IM Land submits Walsall Green Belt plan
A primary school and up to 850 houses could be built in north Birmingham under outline plans submitted by IM Land and Walton Homes this week.
The 103-acre site on Queslett Road sits in Green Belt land between Birmingham and Walsall, but sits just inside the eastern boundaries of Walsall borough and has been allocated as a potential development site in Walsall council’s emerging local plan.
IM Land says the site represents a “logical location” for Green Belt release to meet Walsall’s housing shortfall, with around 15,000 houses planned to meet the borough’s growing needs.
The firm is currently preparing a masterplan for the site, in conjunction with Walton Homes, who will deliver around 18% of the homes within the site.
IM Land says it will establish partnerships with other housebuilders to deliver the remaining homes.
