Riach rejoined JLL where he started his career and enjoyed a 15-year stint previously before also spending three years at LSH.
JLL has also named Jordan Fendick as its new head of ratings in the Midlands, having previously been a director in its business rates team. Fendick has been with JLL for seven years. He replaces Peter Fulham, who has stepped up to be the firm’s head of UK rating.
Rachel Leung, head of Midlands at JLL, said: “These new appointments represent an exciting time for our Birmingham team and demonstrates our commitment to helping investors and developers take advantage of the wealth of opportunities the region has to offer. Both Andy and Richard bring with them a wealth of experience working within the city, and I’m sure they’ll be a perfect fit as we continue to invest into our regional offering.
“Meanwhile business rates remain one of the most complex aspects of real estate for owners and occupiers to navigate. It’s important that we’re well positioned to support our clients in the region with this, and Jordan’s extensive knowledge will help us to advise clients on the strategies they can adopt to respond to upcoming changes in this area.”
