MEC snaps up Tuley to lead structures division
Midlands engineering consultancy MEC Consulting Group has appointed the former Waldeck structural engineer, Daniel Tuley, to lead its structures division.
Tuley joins the business with 13 years’ experience as a structural engineer and will oversee the structures team across MEC’s Birmingham, Leicester and Nottingham offices, after starting his role last month.
His appointment comes as the consultancy looks to expand its client base in areas including food production, vehicle manufacturing and aerospace, alongside its existing work across commercial, residential and heritage projects.
“The team has a strong existing client base, but there is definitely scope to broaden this, particularly in sectors I’ve worked in before such as food production, vehicle manufacturing and aerospace, so these will be new targets,” he said.
“From my initial conversations, I was impressed by the company’s ambitious and forward-thinking management team, and I liked the opportunity to collaborate with the other division leads on multi-disciplinary projects.”
Tuley’s current workload includes structural design work for a residential scheme in Repton, a 177-home development in Solihull and the conversion of an industrial building in Market Harborough into padel courts.
He is also undertaking assessments for residential projects in Kingsbury, Staffordshire and Mansfield.
The consultancy said the appointment forms part of its wider growth plans and multi-disciplinary approach across the Midlands.
