Prologis lets out Birmingham shed on 10-year deal

Logistics firm Top Cloud has expanded its presence in the West Midlands after signing on the dotted line for the 155,000 sq ft DC2 building at Prologis Park Midpoint.

Prologis says the building will be delivered as a turnkey logistics operation for the firm, which has operated its main UK fulfilment centre from the 164,000 sq ft DC6 unit at the same site since 2025.

The building was formerly home to third-party logistics company Europa.

The 85-acre park in Sutton Coldfield is one of Prologis’ most successful logistics locations, with other occupiers on the park including Jaguar Land Rover, DHL, Great Bear, and chocolate-maker Cadbury.

Tom Price, leasing director at Prologis UK, said the deal was the result of a long-standing association between the two firms.

“This transaction demonstrates the value of building long-term relationships with our customers and understanding how their requirements evolve over time,” he said.

“The agreement reinforces the strength of the West Midlands logistics market and the enduring appeal of Prologis Park Midpoint as a location for distribution operations. With this lease completed, the park remains fully occupied, underlining continued demand for high-quality logistics space in one of the UK’s most important distribution hubs.”

A key element of the transaction was the retention of the building’s existing racking and mezzanine. Through Prologis Essentials, Prologis facilitated the purchase and resale of these assets, ensuring they remained in situ and allowing Top Cloud to benefit from a faster, more cost-effective occupation programme.

Alex Zhang, Top Cloud, added: “As our UK business continues to scale, securing additional capacity within Prologis Park Midpoint represents an important step in our long-term growth strategy.

“We are committed to building a stronger and larger warehouse and logistics platform in the UK, providing reliable, high-quality fulfilment and supply chain services to a growing customer base.”
