Redditch picked for £3.5m smart factory

Thermal Transfer Solutions has snapped up a 25,000 sq ft unit on North Moons Moat Industrial Estate as the location for a major smart factory investment.

The Redditch based firm, which manufactures thermal transfer ribbons used in industrial labelling machines, says the £2.8m off-market purchase forms part of a £3.5m investment in smart manufacturing, which also saw potential locations in five other countries considered.

Commercial property agency John Truslove handled the transaction on behalf of the sellers, Worcestershire property investment group White Wulff LLP and Gloucestershire-based Midpark Capital Ltd.

The property occupies a 2.1-acre site located around five miles south of Junction 3 of the M42, via the A435.

Jason Asser, managing director of Thermal Transfer Solutions Ltd, said: “Following a review of several potential locations across Europe, the UK was chosen from a shortlist of five other countries as the preferred site for this exciting £3.5 million project.

“This significant investment marks an important milestone for both Todaytec Group and Thermal Transfer Solutions Ltd. It demonstrates a strong commitment to the UK market, our customers, and the continued growth of our business.

“Having worked with John Truslove to secure our existing premises, we were quick to get in touch when we wanted to double our operating space to cope with our growth.”

Thermal Transfer Solutions was advised by Jones & Groves Solicitors in Bromsgrove and HCR Legal LLP in Worcester acted for the sellers.
