Trowers strengthens with partner hire
Law firm Trowers & Hamlins has lured TLT’s head of housing and regeneration, David Meecham, to lead its real estate team in Birmingham.
Meecham will advise on a wide range of property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, lettings and development deals, as well as property regeneration. He has a particular focus on large-scale housing and residential schemes, with extensive experience advising public sector clients.
A qualified solicitor with 30 years’ experience, and an alumni of the University of Liverpool, Meecham spent almost two decades with Birmingham-based Pinsent Mason prior to moving to TLT in 2023.
“His extensive experience across housing, regeneration and the wider real estate sector, combined with his strong public sector expertise, will be a significant addition to our Real Estate team in Birmingham,” said Suzanne Benson, national head of real estate at Trowers.
“David’s appointment underlines our commitment to the continued growth and development of our Birmingham practice, and he is ideally placed to take the lead on our West Midlands strategy, providing clients with access to an even broader range of specialist expertise and strategic advice. It also supports our firmwide 2030 vision and our ambition to build on the strength of our Real Estate practice across the UK and internationally.”
Snow Hill-based Trowers and Hamlins employs around 130 people at its Birmingham office.
“Trowers has an excellent reputation in the market, with a strong national platform that is firmly embedded in the sectors in which I have worked throughout my career,” added Meecham.
“I am looking forward to working with colleagues across the firm and building on the strength of the real estate team in Birmingham, as well as continuing to support clients across public and private sector markets.”
