Broadway Malyan appoints workplace director
The Birmingham architecture practice behind the city’s Beorma Tower has appointed Joseph Huddleston to build client relationships across the Midlands and North.
Huddlestone brings more than 20 years’ experience in workplace strategy, interior architecture and project delivery, having overseen more than 800,000 sq ft of workspace across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
His previous appointments include roles at Gensler, Modus and Squaredot.
Huddlestone will be based from the firm’s Snow Hill offices in Birmingham.
“The most successful workplaces begin with understanding what an organisation needs to achieve and how its people work. Bringing that insight into the design process helps create places of experience and that support wellbeing, strengthen an organisation’s culture and deliver long-term value,” he said.
“Broadway Malyan brings together the local relationships and wider design expertise to respond to those ambitions and I look forward to working with colleagues across the practice to deepen our client partnerships and grow our workplace offer in the Midlands, the North and beyond.”
Broadway Malyan’s recent workplace projects include the transformation of Interchange Place in Birmingham and the design of EY’s new headquarters at Paradise.
The appointment comes ahead of the planned launch of Beorma Tower, a mixed-use development beside Selfridges in Birmingham.
Hugo Fitzgerald, Practice Principal and Head of Broadway Malyan’s Birmingham studio, added: “Joseph brings a valuable combination of workplace expertise, commercial understanding and established relationships across the sector. His experience strengthens our ability to support clients throughout a project, connecting their business objectives with thoughtful design and confident delivery.
“With Interchange Place completed, EY’s new headquarters progressing and Beorma Tower approaching launch, this is an important period for our Birmingham studio. Joe’s appointment builds on that momentum and our commitment to investing in the people and expertise that can support our long term growth ambitions.”
