Clearwater heads to 10 Livery Street

The corporate finance advisory firm has moved into its new Birmingham home, making the short move from 9 Colmore Row to a 5,000 sq ft office.

Clearwater, which was founded in the city in 2003, will now occupy 25% more space than it did at Colmore Row, giving it room for collaborative spaces and future growth. For now, 40 professionals will use the office as their permanent base.

Office fitout was led by Overbury.

Clearwater has enjoyed significant growth in recent years and has stated its ambition to grow UK revenues from £50m currently to reach £75m by 2030. The Midlands remains a key focus for the business.

Among Birmingham colleagues are senior deal advisers in key sector teams including business services, industrials, healthcare and tech. The office also serves as a hub for Clearwater’s modelling and data analytics team.

Birmingham will be used to host company meetings attended by colleagues from Clearwater’s other UK offices, in London, Manchester and Leeds.

Clearwater, which has 140 colleagues across its four UK offices, has enjoyed a buoyant 2025. In October it announced it had advised on 28 transactions in the first half of its financial year, running from April.

Sarah Taylor, partner and head of the Midlands at Clearwater, said: “This move is a real statement of intent. The Midlands is our founding region, and it remains a key part of our UK coverage so we’re keen that we have a modern, inspiring workspace in the centre of Birmingham to bring our people and clients together.

“The office has been designed to give our colleagues spaces to collaborate while also providing areas where people can focus as well as meet clients and other partners. It demonstrates our commitment to Birmingham and the wider Midlands region and gives us the base we need to build on our recent run of growth.”

As reported by Place Midlands in October, 10 Livery Street as a whole is currently being marketed by LSH for around £30m.

Mark Taylor, UK chief executive at the firm, added: “Our Birmingham office houses the largest M&A advisory practice in the Midlands with a team that possesses deep sector and regional expertise, providing the best service and coverage to our clients.

“Coming on the back of one of the most successful years in our history, we’re in a great position to continue to strengthen our role supporting ambitious businesses and funds across the UK, as well as providing international coverage via our global reach. I’m really looking forward to hosting clients and colleagues in this outstanding new workspace in the years ahead.”

Deals advised on by Clearwater’s Midlands team over the past year include advising the management team at law firm Harper James on securing investment from LDC, and supporting the shareholders of Leicester firm Obsequio Group on receiving investment from Warren Equity Partners.
