Coventry Building Society Arena pledges further £15m to facilities

The arena said it was halfway through a £30m improvement programme, with the next phase to include additional event venues and private dining spaces.

Since 2022, the CBS Arena has spent £15m on hotel and restaurant facilities, conference space, and match-day welcome areas.

The programme is part of the 10-year partnership between Coventry City Football Club, Coventry Building Society Arena and Legends Global.

Recent additions to the venue include The Race Experience and The Watchmakers Lounge.

The programme of investment began in 2022, with lower halls transformed into the £6.3m Commonwealth Convention Centre. This included the creation of 18,800 sq ft of extra conference space, installation of digital signage and a new south pavilion entrance.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel was refurbished in 2025 as the club pushed its non-matchday conference and events business. Revenue in this area has risen for the past two years and visitor numbers are now 1.2 million a year. More than 80 new events were hosted between May 2025 and April 2026.

Jenni Ford, director of sales and marketing at Coventry Building Society Arena, said: “We have continued to build momentum over the last five years. We never want to stand still. Our team is always looking at where we can improve, from our event spaces to operations behind the scenes.

“The impact of this sustained investment is reflected in the growth we are seeing, with more people than ever coming through the doors, the venue attracting great new events and existing events growing their footprint within the venue.

“We have continued that investment over the summer and there is more to come over the next few months.”

Earlier this month, the club said it was considering developments plan around the outside the arena.
