Cubo takes over city centre WeWork site
Workspace provider Cubo says a move to take over the former WeWork co-working space on Birmingham’s Colmore Row is a “major statement of intent”.
The 30,000 sq ft office becomes Cubo’s 15th UK location after the firm signed a long lease for the building this week, with planned improvements set to include a coworking lounge with “barista-led” coffee and breakout areas, enterprise-grade meeting suites and event space for social, networking and wellness events.
Cubo says existing members will be transferred over automatically as part of the deal, with immediate access to the company’s national network.
“55 Colmore Row is one of the UK’s most iconic flexible workspace addresses – a building that companies genuinely aspire to work from. Taking this site into the Cubo portfolio is a major statement of intent,” said Marc Brough, chief executive and founder of Cubo.
“We’re expanding, we’re investing, and we’re committed to delivering exceptional workspace experiences in the country’s leading business cities. Birmingham is a key part of that strategy.”
The company recently announced that its contracted annual revenue has surpassed £30 million.
It has also reported record enterprise sign-ups and occupancy levels across its national portfolio.
