Tilbury Douglas lands £26.4m Pershore school rebuild
The Worcestershire appointment is among a tranche of eight projects signed off by the Department for Education worth a combined £240m.
The scheme includes partial demolition of the existing Pershore High School site in Station Road, as well as the construction of a new facility and refurbishment works.
This will allow pupil numbers to be increased by 150 from the current 1,600, and see the development of consolidated curriculum zones and improved teaching facilities.
Designed to achieve net zero carbon in operation, the facility will also feature new ICT suites, science studios, a staff room, dining area, 3D art room, activity studio, drama studio and changing facilities.
David Tighe, regional director West Midlands at Tilbury Douglas, said: “We are proud to be leading the construction of Pershore High School on behalf of the Department for Education. This project will not only provide high-quality learning spaces but also reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering sustainable, net zero carbon buildings that enhance local communities.
“We look forward to working closely with all partners to create a modern, inspiring environment for students and staff alike.”
Plans were submitted with Wychavon Council last month for asbestos removal and soft-strip out ahead of the demolition element of the scheme, reference W/25/02204/DEM.
