Vistry signs deal for more than 200 houses at Boulton Moor

A total of 213 affordable homes will be built as part of Derby’s urban extension as part of a deal with housing association Platform.

The development forms part of the 526 new properties being built on the 47-acre site in the second phase of the scheme at Boulton Moor, the majority of which will be made available for sale or rent on the open market.

Planning permission was granted in May last year, and Vistry completed land acquisition at the site in September.

A playground will also be built as part of the development, around five miles from Derby city centre, which will eventually create a 2,600-home village including schools, shops, a care home, businesses, a transport hub, and electric vehicle charging stations.

Dave Bradley, Managing Director of Vistry North Midlands, said: “This contract with Platform marks a major milestone in our commitment to delivering high-quality, affordable homes in Derby. We are proud to be working with Platform Homes to bring forward a blend of affordable, PRS, and private homes, designed to meet the needs of the local community and support the city’s growth.”

A total of 284 homes were built during phase one of the scheme, which was granted planning permission in 2014.

Kate Ellison, Director of Growth and Innovation at Platform added: “Platform is committed to being a leading delivery partner across the Midlands, and schemes like Boulton Moor show the scale at which we can help bring forward high-quality affordable places for people to call home. Working with Vistry on this important development allows us to accelerate much-needed housing in the area and contribute to a well-designed place that will serve the community for generations.”
