Deloitte announces relocation to flagship city offices
Professional services giant Deloitte has announced plans to move its Birmingham base, taking 46,000 sq ft at One Centenary Way in the city’s Paradise district.
The firm, which currently employs over 1,000 staff at its operation in Brindleyplace, will move to the seventh and eighth floors in One Centenary Way in the city’s Paradise area this autumn.
Deloitte says the move is part of a wider programme of moves across the UK, which has also seen the firm switch locations in Aberdeen, Belfast, Bristol and Manchester over the past two years.
The move comes on the back of national law firm TLT’s relocation to One Centenary Way in December last year, the building already boasting a number of high profile clients across its 280,000 sq ft span, including Goldman Sachs, real estate company JLL and wealth management firm Quilter Cheviot.
Juliet Halfhead, practice senior partner at Deloitte Midlands, said: “This move reinforces our commitment to growth in the region. One Centenary Way will become an integral part of our offering in the Midlands to our clients, partners and visitors, and will be the perfect environment for our people to grow and develop their skills and careers with us.
“Birmingham continues to transform, and we’re looking forward to moving into a modern, sophisticated and environmentally conscious building that encapsulates that feeling of progress.
“As a firm, we’re involved with some of the most exciting and ambitious projects in the region, particularly in real estate, and our new space will be a fantastic base from which to continue that work.”
The 17-acre Paradise regeneration, still in progress, is on course to deliver eight new flagship buildings on the site of the former Birmingham Central Library in the city centre, including the 509 ft tall Octagon building, the world’s first pure octagonal residential tower.
Ross Fittall, commercial development director at Paradise developer and asset-manager, MEPC, said: “Welcoming Deloitte to Paradise is a testament to the estate being recognised as the city’s premier business destination and a fitting way to bring One Centenary Way to full capacity. We are very proud that Deloitte has chosen Paradise as its new home for its next chapter in the city and region.
“Deloitte’s new space will offer a highly sustainable, low-carbon approach for its people and clients, with superb business facilities as well as offering some of the city’s best connectivity, retail and leisure amenities right on the doorstep.”
