Former Coalville food factory hits the market for £2.2m
A ‘substantial’ former Leicestershire manufacturing site and warehouse has been put up for sale.
Meat manufacturer Pilgrims announced plans to quit its three-acre Coalville site in 2022, a move which saw around 300 staff made redundant as the firm shifted its operations to other UK sites.
Now, the firm’s former Mantle Lane pork plant is expected to fetch more than £2m, after being placed on the market by Bond Wolfe.
The self-contained 99,723 sq ft unit includes production washrooms, commercial refrigeration, freezer space and loading access in high bay warehousing with offices and staff facilities, and also comes with a large yard and car park.
James Mattin, managing director of Bond Wolfe, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed to sell this substantial manufacturing site.
“Strategically located, it offers nearly 100,000 sq ft of warehouse and production facility accommodation.
“Coalville is an established industrial location within north west Leicestershire, strategically positioned in the East Midlands in what has become known as the UK logistics Golden Triangle.
“Opportunities like this do not come to the market very often so we expect to see plenty of activity. The layout means there is excellent scope for a variety of uses, and with ample parking and yard space, it lends itself to multi-use logistics or similar.”
