Owl Group snaps up Worcester site for affordable scheme

Staffordshire house-builder, Owl Group, has completed the purchase of a near four-acre parcel of land in Worcestershire for an undisclosed sum.

A total of 30 houses will be built at Stonebow Road in Drakes Broughton, set to be built by Owl Partnerships, the firm’s affordable housing arm. A housing association partner will be announced prior to the start of construction on the site, with work expected to get under way in the autumn.

Detailed planning consent was secured on appeal in 2024 for the site on the village’s northern edge and includes a mix of 1-4 bedroom homes together with private parking and new landscaping.

Wychavon District Council had originally refused the proposals, put forward by Lone Star Lane and Mr G Parricelli, on the grounds the site was outside the defined development boundary of Drakes Broughton. That decision was overturned by government planning inspectors in September 2024.

The development will be Owl Group’s fourth active site in the West Midlands, with a further 17 in the pipeline.
