Tritax signs off Amazon’s Northamptonshire hub
Tritax Big Box has reached practical completion on a 1m sq ft industrial warehouse at Symmetry Park Kettering, set to become an Amazon logistics and distribution centre.
The e-commerce giant has taken a 20 year lease for the building, the final development of three, built as part of a 136-acre scheme on the southern fringes of Kettering, near Isham.
Other occupiers on the park are Iron Mountain and baked goods retailer Greggs, which operates a 300,000 sq ft distribution centre from the site.
A pre-let agreement signed by Amazon earlier this year is worth £9.8m in annual rental income, Tritax confirmed in an update to the stock exchange this morning.
“Reaching practical completion on this facility, Amazon’s largest UK cross-dock warehouse, is a significant milestone for Symmetry Park, Kettering and for our relationship with Amazon,” said Colin Godfrey, chief executive of Tritax Big Box.
“It provides further evidence of our strategy in action, delivering growing rental income for shareholders at an attractive yield on cost.
