Stoford lines up major Wolverhampton i54 extension
Stoford has launched plans for a 660,000 sq ft extension of the i54 industrial park near Wolverhampton.
The developer has signed an agreement with landowner Midland Land Portfolio Limited (MLPL), a subsidiary of utilities firm Severn Trent, to built up to four build-to-suit units on a 39-acre allocated employment site, which will be known as Stoford Park i54.
An outline planning application is expected to be submitted in November, with early 2008 pencilled in as a start date for the scheme.
The plot sits within the existing i54 park, which was developed in 2005 as a partnership venture between Staffordshire County Council, City of Wolverhampton Council, and South Staffordshire Council.
Jaguar Land Rover, Moog, and Eurofins are among several high-profile occupiers at i54.
“Stoford Park i54 provides an opportunity to deliver high quality manufacturing space in a location that has already established itself as a destination for advanced manufacturing and engineering businesses,” said Stoford director, Gerard Ludlow.
“Our partnership with MLPL is enabling us to bring forward a flexible scheme that can respond to occupier requirements and deliver buildings quickly once planning is secured.”
Units will range in size from 50,000 to 500,000 sq ft and will be aimed at occupiers seeking modern manufacturing facilities on a pre-let or pre-sale basis.
The scheme will be designed to reduce carbon emissions through low energy features including PV panels, LED lighting, EV charging and rainwater harvesting. Buildings will target BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and EPC A ratings.
