Nottinghamshire seeks to offload former school field
A residential development site in Mansfield with conditional approval for more than 100 homes has hit the market, with agents seeking expressions of interest before the end of the month.
The rectangular greenfield site to the east of Abbott Road extends to around 12.3 acres, and received conditional outline planning consent for 134 new homes from Mansfield District Council in October.
The site is the former playing fields of Rosebrook Primary School, land which was retained by Nottinghamshire County Council when the school closed in 2013, but now says is “surplus to requirements”.
Savills Nottingham’s development team has been instructed to manage the sales process on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council.
Commenting on the launch, Ann Taylor, Development Director at Savills, said: “This site presents a well‑located opportunity in an established residential setting, with strong access to local services and good transport links.
“With a resolution to grant already in place for 134 homes, we expect strong interest from developers looking to bring forward high‑quality, sustainable residential schemes in Mansfield. We look forward to engaging with prospective bidders through the expressions of interest stage.”
Expressions of interest are invited by 12 noon on Friday, 27 March , ahead of a formal tender process that will follow once a decision notice for outline planning consent has been issued.
