Construction is now under way at six warehouse units in Walsall, part of a 91,100 sq ft industrial and logistics scheme.

Planning consent for the speculative development on Willenhall Road, around a mile from the M6 motorway, was granted in April.

The initial phase of construction will focus on site clearance, excavation, and foundational works.

Gareth Williams, director at Erdgard, said: “Breaking ground at Central Point is a fantastic milestone for Walsall. This isn’t just about putting spades in the ground; it’s about creating a sustainable, forward-thinking hub that will breathe new life into the area.

“We are thrilled to see the works officially begin after months of meticulous planning.”

Henley-in-Arden based industrial developer, Erdgard, was launched in 2023, the brainchild of JLL’s former director of capital markets, Allan Wilson, and Gareth Williams, who was previously development director at St Francis Group.

Erdgard has partnered with the Richardson family to develop a number of projects in its pipeline, including Central Point and a 10-acre mid box scheme at Pendeford Business Park in Wolverhampton.
