Birmingham plot hits the market for £2.75m
A city-centre development site with planning permission for 106 homes has been put up for sale with Birmingham agent, Siddall Jones.
The half-acre site at 240 Holliday Street, currently pressed into use as a pay and display car park, has now been advertised at offers over £2,750,000 – more than two years after Birmingham developer Raybone Developments received planning permission for a Gensler-designed residential scheme.
The site previously provided warehouse storage for a printworks at Holliday Street firm Husband and Currell, which closed down in 1991.
The freehold to the site is owned by Birmingham City Council, but has been leased to the vendor on a 250-year agreement at a peppercorn ground rent.
“The site represents a rare opportunity to acquire a cleared, consented site with full planning permission for 106 apartments,” said a spokesperson for Siddall Jones.
“With no existing buildings, a purchaser can proceed directly to construction following discharge of planning conditions, without demolition cost or delay.”
