Bowmer + Kirkland swoops for Denton
The Derbyshire-headquartered construction and development group has acquired London and Manchester-based office design and fit-out specialist Denton.
Denton, which supports its founding London office with an operation based at Queen Street in Manchester city centre, said the deal marks a major milestone in its 30th year of trading.
The interiors specialist now turns over £40m, and said it will benefit from the backing and resources of the Midlands-headquartered £1.25bn group, positioning it to take on larger and more complex projects.
B+K, formed more than a century ago, is a Midlands institution and well established as a national operator. In Manchester, it has recently started work on the 243,000 sq ft The Republic, the first office building at Landsec’s Mayfield scheme. The firm is still privately owned.
Denton founder Mike Halewood said: “This is a hugely exciting new chapter for Denton. Over the past 30 years we’ve built a business we’re incredibly proud of, being acquired by Bowmer + Kirkland Group gives us the scale and stability to deliver even greater value for our clients.
“Our commitment to design excellence, responsible operations, and creating workplaces that support health, wellbeing and collaboration remain unchanged.”
Jack Kirkland, chairman of Bowmer + Kirkland, said that Denton’s “track record of growth, creativity, and client focus makes them a natural fit with our values”.
He added: “As part of the Bowmer & Kirkland Group, we can expand opportunities, deliver larger and more ambitious projects, and continue to raise standards in the office design and fit-out sector.”
Projects delivered by Denton in Manchester include office environments for occupiers including Saffery, Cundall, Coalfire and recruiter Oliver James Associates.
