Director departs as BWB builds for future

Andy Passmore, chief commercial officer and an executive board director at the integrated engineering consultancy, will leave after 27 years with the firm.

BWB’s board said the move comes as part of a planned transition that coincides with significant growth across its West Midlands operations. Simon Stanley is now regional director for Birmingham, having previously been Leeds regional director.

Joining BWB as a graduate, Passmore rose through the ranks to CCO, playing a central role in strengthening the firm’s presence in the region. During his tenure, he contributed to a portfolio of major projects and developments, helping to establish BWB’s reputation as a key partner for complex regional regeneration, the firm said.

BWB’s team in the West Midlands is currently supporting flagship projects such as the BBC’s new headquarters at the Tea Factory in Digbeth, alongside schemes including SPARK Walsall and the Worcester Six business park.

As part of the continued investment in its regional offering, BWB has recently welcomed two strategic hires to its Birmingham operation – Becky Corps, associate director in ground solutions, has bolstered the firm’s geotechnical and geo-environmental expertise, while Rob Leach, director of building services, has strengthened BWB’s mechanical, electrical, and specialist engineering capability.

Regional director Simon Stanley said: “Andy has built an incredible legacy, and his dedication has been fundamental to our position in the West Midlands.

“I’m hugely excited to join the Birmingham team. With the addition of new senior talent to the Birmingham office, we are building on this foundation to ensure that BWB remains the trusted partner for our clients. This is a period of real opportunity for the region, and BWB is committed to being at the heart of it.”

BWB has offices in Birmingham, Nottingham, Leeds, Manchester, and London.

Chief executive Graham Sant said: “Andy has made an extraordinary contribution to BWB over nearly three decades, and we are genuinely sad to see him go. His leadership, relationships, and commercial insight have shaped both the business and our presence in the West Midlands.

“This is a carefully managed transition, and Andy leaves us in a strong position with real momentum in the region. As we move into the next phase of our long-term strategy, we remain firmly committed to supporting our clients and continuing our growth.”

Passmore said: “It’s been a privilege to share in BWB’s journey and immensely rewarding to witness the business flourish into the national consultancy it is today.

“Our West Midlands clients have always held a special place in our story, and I leave with considerable pride knowing this talented Birmingham team will continue to thrive under Simon’s leadership. I’m grateful for all the friendships I’ve made and have no doubt that BWB’s brightest days are still ahead.”
