Clowes launches 200,000 sq ft Alfreton industrial park
Groundwork is poised to begin at the five-unit Birchwood Business Park in Derbyshire, with developer Clowes targeting a construction start date of 2027.
Detailed planning approval for the 28-acre site, which forms an extension to the existing Cotes Park industrial estate, was granted in December last year.
The plot is around two miles from the M1 motorway at Junction 28, and close to Castlewood Business Park, where Clowes is also building a 112,000 sq ft industrial and logistics shed – having completed land acquisition at the site earlier this year.
“Somercotes is an established commercial location with excellent connectivity, and we have strong confidence in the long-term appeal of the site,” said James Richards, development director at Clowes Developments.
“We have already received significant interest from businesses keen to explore the opportunity to make Birchwood Business Park their new home, which is a strong indication of the demand for high-quality industrial and warehouse space in this location.”
Leicestershire-based IMA Architects produced designs for the scheme.
The development is being jointly marketed by FHP Property Consultants and NG Chartered Surveyors.
