Turner & Townsend makes Birmingham move

The firm’s team in the city has relocated to the grade two-listed 55 Colmore Row, having agreed a 10-year lease on 10,120 sq ft.

Once a grand banking hall, the landmark building has been restored and repurposed, earning a British Council for Offices refurbished/recycled workplace award.

T&T’s Birmingham team has grown significantly over the past decade, rising from fewer than 100 people in 2015 to more than 400 in 2025, working across real estate, infrastructure, defence, and energy and natural resources.

The firm said the move to a larger, more prominent location will set the team up for further, sustained growth. The new base provides flexible workspaces, including open-plan collaborative areas, private booths, and sustainably sourced furnishings.

Phil Clempson, director and strategic lead for Birmingham at Turner & Townsend UK, said: “Our new location at 55 Colmore Row gives us a space that not only reflects our growth and the calibre of projects we are delivering, but also provides an inspiring and flexible environment for our people. We are excited to be moving into a building that blends heritage with innovation, and that supports our sustainability commitments.”

“The relocation underlines Turner & Townsend’s long-term investment in the Birmingham market and in our capabilities, to help shape the city’s built environment. By combining heritage, sustainability, and contemporary design, the new office provides a platform for continued success in delivering outstanding outcomes for clients across the Midlands and beyond.”
