Edition Birmingham sells all 149 apartments in Park Residence scheme
The first tower on the 581-apartment Edition Birmingham development has sold out, with more than a year still left to run on construction of the scheme.
The sale of the final apartment in the 149-home Park Residence building, the first phase of the Centenary Square scheme which is due to be completed in 2027, means sales revenue generated so far has now ticked over the £100m mark.
Developers Sphere Group and Select Property say the larger building on the development, a 45-storey sister-building known as Centenary Tower, is also enjoying strong sales demand – with over 130 of its 432 apartments now sold having been launched earlier this year.
“We’re really pleased with the pace of sales, all driven by people who want to own a piece of what will be Birmingham’s most prestigious new residential development,” said Adam Price, chief executive of Select Property.
“The city has a young and growing population, along with billions of pounds of investment, most notably at Paradise, which is a stone’s throw from Edition. It’s a compelling investment opportunity for owner-occupiers and investors alike.”
The luxury-specification scheme is set to feature a 20-metre above-ground swimming pool with an accompanying hydro pool, plunge pool, sauna and steam room. A “sky lounge” will also provide private dining experiences on the 44th and 45th floors.
Hertfordshire-based contractor Midgard won a £145m contract to build the 23,000 sq ft development in May, with work commencing on site shortly afterwards.
By that point, off-plan sales had already topped £85m – even before spades were in the ground on the city centre development.
“The rapid sales of apartments, with still over a year to go until the completion of phase one, speaks to the excitement we’re seeing on the ground about this world-class development,” said Alex Neale, chief executive of Sphere Group.
“Things are moving at pace and people in the city will be able to see this new landmark taking shape over the course of 2026.”
