Former Knight Frank duo team up to launch residential consultancy

Two former senior members of Knight Frank’s Birmingham land and development team have launched a new consultancy, hoping to plug a gap for “direct, commercially focused advice” in a what they describe as an increasingly challenging development market.

Ashlawn Chase has been founded by Will Jordan and Charlie Steele and will advise landowners, developers and investors on land disposals, acquisitions, development consultancy and strategic land opportunities across the Midlands.

The Henley-in-Arden-based business has been established to provide a director-led service, with clients working directly with the firm’s founders rather than through larger agency structures.

Jordan, formerly head of development at Knight Frank’s Birmingham office, said: “After many years advising across the Midlands market, we saw an opportunity to create a business that offers straightforward, commercially focused advice without unnecessary complexity.

“The market remains challenging and clients increasingly value direct access to experienced advisers who understand both the opportunities and the risks. Ashlawn Chase has been built around that principle.”

Together, Jordan and Steele bring nearly 40 years of combined experience across the sector, having advised on city centre regeneration projects, strategic land opportunities, housing schemes and mixed-use developments throughout the region.

“We’ve always shared a similar approach to business – relationship-led, commercially grounded and focused on delivering results,” addede Steele.

“Launching Ashlawn Chase gives us the opportunity to provide a more personal and agile service to clients across the region.”

The firm is already advising on a number of residential-led development opportunities across the Midlands, with instructions spanning land disposals, acquisitions and development consultancy.

Developments currently being marketed by the new firm include a 4-acre development plot in Erdington and the six-storey Cavendish House on Waterlook Street in Birmingham city centre.
