Tim Evans takes Midlands planning helm at Avison Young
Commercial real estate firm Avison Young has appointed Tim Evans as its new Midlands planning head, following a strategic leadership reshuffle.
The firm says the change marks a new chapter for its planning division in the Midlands, with a renewed focus on growth and regional influence.
Evans steps into the role after more than 15 years with the company, succeeding Nick Hardy, who will now focus on other areas of the business. As head of planning, Evans will be responsible for shaping team strategy, driving growth, and overseeing project delivery, while continuing to advise both new and existing clients.
“It’s a real privilege to lead such a well-established and high-performing team,” he said.
“My focus now is on building on that success as well as growing the team, expanding our client portfolio and continuing to strengthen our presence across the Midlands. It’s an exciting time for the business and I’m proud to be playing a part in its next chapter.”
With a professional background spanning the housing, higher education, and logistics sectors, Evans currently supports clients such as Loughborough University, Jelson Homes, Barratt David Wilson, Homes England, the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, and Vital Energy. His work includes overseeing the delivery of approximately 15,000 new homes across the Midlands for housebuilder and registered provider clients.
Craig Alsbury, Principal and National Head of Planning at Avison Young, welcomed the appointment, and also paid tribute to outgoing head Nick Hardy.
“This is a fantastic appointment and I’m really pleased to see Tim step into this key role. I brought Tim into the business back in 2006 and have worked closely with him ever since. He has exactly the right experience, skills and drive needed to take the team forward, and I am confident that he will take them to new heights,” he said.
“Nick has done an amazing job over the last couple of years, and I am immensely grateful for the contribution he has made to reshaping the team. Nick is not going anywhere, he is critical to the services that we provide for a number of nationally significant clients and he will continue to play key roles on major mandates and projects going forward.”
