Warwick ‘Forever Living’ mansion snapped up for £1.3m

A grade two-listed Midlands manor house is set to become a wedding venue after being sold to Shrewsbury real estate firm Hallmark Properties.

The 10,292 sq ft Longbridge Manor in Warwick was previously used as the UK corporate headquarters of the US-based Forever Living aloe vera products company, owned by the Maughan family.

Commercial property agents Bromwich Hardy conducted the sale on behalf of Utah-based U.K. Investments LLC.

The impressive manor buildings sit in nearly four acres of landscaped grounds, with mature ponds and a circular fishpond dating back to Victorian times.

Mark Booth, senior surveyor at Bromwich Hardy, said: “Longbridge Manor is an important landmark in Warwick with so much rich history attached to it.

“We are delighted to have found Hallmark Properties as a reputable buyer who wants to transform this magnificent property into a unique, multi-use venue.”

The history of Longbridge Manor stretches back to the middle ages, when the land was owned by the Friars of Thellesford, one of many monastic properties confiscated by Henry VIII, who granted it to Thomas Staunton in 1539.

The 16th century manor house was substantially altered in the post-Medieval period and the main portion of the two-storey south elevation, at the front of the property, was built in the early 17th century.

The rear wing is the remaining part of the original 16th century building, with the south block having been added around 1700.

Charlotte Thornton-Smith of HCR Law in Cheltenham provided legal advice to Hallmark Properties, while U.K. Investments was advised by Chryselle Stewart of RPC Legal in London.
